Ramayana Lestari Sentosa Tbk (RALS) is targeting to open five to eight new outlets by 2018. The outlet expansion will boost the company’s revenue growth.
Setyadi Surya, Corporate Secretary of RALS, said the company is currently operating 115 outlets and will be increased to 118 outlets by the end of 2017. The number of additional stores in 2018 will be more than in 2017 with 6 outlets because the company is optimistic that the economic condition will be better next year.
The company also denied the news of closing eight outlets in Surabaya, Banjarmasin, Bulukumba, Bogor, Pontianak and Sabang. “The outlet closing is not intended to cover the overall operation but only change the format,” said Setyadi. The company will change the format and structure of outlets from supermarkets into other business ventures. Some outlets are converted into one stop shopping in collaboration with cinema managers to increase the number of visitors. This structural change is expected to increase the profitability. “Until now, the company is in a healthy and solid condition,” said Setyadi.
In the first half of 2017, the company posted IDR 2.97 trillion, up 7.6 percent over the same period last year. Net profit reached IDR 368.78 billion, up 45 percent over the same period last year. (*)
