Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (TLKM) and PT Industri Telekomunikasi Indonesia (PT Inti) are cooperating to provide and market the supporting devices of the Internet of Things (IoT). This partnership will optimize the business potential of both companies and their future earnings.
Dian Rachmawan, Director of Enterprise & Business Service at TLKM, said that the cooperation includes the provision and utilization of IoT devices, including Smart KTP (ID Card) Reader, civilian navigation equipment, Smart Meeting, Smart Meter, System Control Unit, IP PBX and fiber optics and accessories as per market needs. The companies also agreed on the marketing synergy of IoT devices in the form of freelancing, investment or managed services, and other cooperation.
“TLKM through its subsidiary, PT PINS Indonesia, is focusing on developing IoT in Indonesia, which will strengthen PT PINS to become The Leading IoT Company in Indonesia,” said Dian.
Darman Mappangara, President Director of PT Inti, said that TLKM will market the product and the result of IoT development from PT Inti production. PT Inti also provides IoT equipment for Telkom Group and other companies through its subsidiary TLKM, PT PINS Indonesia. “PT Pins Indonesia has the exclusive right to provide Smart KTP Reader to Telkom Group,” said Darman. For the provision of other IoT equipment besides Telkom Group, PT Inti may grant PT Pins exclusive rights which are possible and feasible on each party reviews.
Indonesia is expected to be the largest IoT market in ASEAN with 333 million mobile phone users. The market value in Asia Pacific in 2020 is estimated to reach USD 678 million. (*)
